Surely someones gonna get on board on this, I remembered today martin what it reminded me of...my first car was a mini and the back brakes where as this set up, the only problem was the seals would blow all the time on the wheel cylinders and would leave a mess much the same as a lambretta does when a rear hub seal goes must have been really cheap crap...

PS if i win the lottery tom night mate your in business..

Its a nice idea but I would want to look into why the brake is crap in detail first. Is it because the pivot points are too far away from the hub braking surface? iS there flex in the mounting bracket for the outer cable? Is the leverage from the pedal calculated wrong? (i think this is poss). Does the cable stretch under force? Do the shoes flex? Is the material wrong on the shoes?
We know the cable brake can work on a p range rear brake. So why not a Lambretta? It must be in the design somewhere. Something is wrong.

yeah, I agree, the pedal seems to need to move too much for the shoe movement. Even on a properly adjusted rear brake there is a lot of pedal travel.
I'd still go with the hydraulic rear drum

Im with byron still go with the drum set up rather then outboard...I have never used the outboard but have heard there not that good and an nightmare if you get a puncture and very expensive..someone used one if so what they like..
