I'm sure MB used to claim that they were made in the UK. Although I looked recently and there is no mention of their origin so presumably they are now sourced from outside the UK. Two and two = ?

Just how foolish are you people putting two and two together and as usual getting it wrong!

The MB springs are and always have been made in the UK.

I thought that might get a response, and quite rightly, but that doesn't sound like you Ian, sounds more like MB himself

BTW I prefer MB springs too.

I don't know if a "boast" was ever made. The website description may have said that but we lost about 600 descriptions last year when a file crashed and a load of descriptions had to be redone. All I know is that they have always been made in England. Any other information you may have heard is sour grapes/tittle tattle/fishwives chatter.

just as an aside to all this...."british made" thing.
i just thought i,d relay this on ....

a few friends of mine,that are into old cars,boats, planes etc ....have always insisted that there work has been farmed out to british companies/firms etc....and so claim that the parts etc recieved back were british made...
sadley as it turns out this is not always the case it seems....
and to cut a long story short....there are lots of british firms etc taking on orders on the pretext to you that its going to be british made(just cos its a british firm that your order is placed with) and just having those parts made abroad anyway.....at a far cheaper cost than they could do it here .

i was gutted when told that yorkshire puddings from sainsburys were actually made abroad....
they still taste as good though ,if not better....
