Sorry for the confusion guys, no it does pull like the space shuttle in top (not quite the full 37 million horsepower but near enough) as i say i fitted a 16 tooth front sprocket to replace the original 15, just blasts through the gears and sits there at 55-60 which makes me think just going up 1 tooth may not do a lot, but obviously you guys know more about it than me. will be fitting a JL3 (when it eventually comes).
The barrel is a ported stage 4 i got from Harry Barlow, seems pretty good to be honest.
I looked for the gearing calculator on here but couldent find it do you have a link?
cheers.

I definitely wouldn't fit an 18 tooth front sprocket . Unless you have the power you will find it unpleasant to ride.
You will need a longer chain for a 17 tooth front sprocket.

On flat level windless road and on any decline, yes.
Any shortage of power will show itself against the wind or up an incline when in 4th.
2 years ago I overgeared going to France. I had fantastic top speed but on the motorway between Calais and Bolougne I was embarrassing and forever changing down.

If you've got a jl3 on the way I'd hold off for now; you may find the torque drops off slightly in favour of more revs. Therefore your gearing may be spot on.
Also consider the cost of sprocket, new chain, potentially different chain tensioner etc.
