What issues has he encountered by doing this. My scooter hits 67mph+ but my mates fitting a Malossi 210 so handling is very important.
handling has improved....
recently did a couple of hundred miles with him ( he was 2 up)
nothing snapped off
his is a p200 engine..so 60 odd mph possibly

I can have a look at an Ape rim which I believe may've been the same as a Cosa but I can tell you now they have a heavy bias to the inside rim so not really helping you out eitherway.

Rim 10", open for Vespa COSA 125-200
The rim of the Vespa COSA is built approx. 1cm wider than the other 2.10 rims. A 100 tyre can be used here as a maximum. The wider rim offers more riding stability and the wider tyre is an optical highlight. We have a PIAGGIO rim and high quality reproduction rims in our range.

I've got a few old GS160 rims on me garage Gary.... pm me your address & I'll send one up for you mate.... It'll probably be past it's useful life, but you'll be able to use it to see if this options gonna work before forking out on a new one.

Go ahead and Reverse it. I've helped install a few large frame motors into wide body bikes and the bracket we used was designed to run that way. If you are really worried about it send a note to the manufacturer and ask them.

Looking at your issue, Im certainly no expert in small frames, lies with the spacer. Your shock is sitting at an angle which aint going to help. Why does the engine not fit, with the shock and why is the tyre rubbing on the clutch cover. Is this engine not meant to be in this frame. Like I mentioned above PX rims have a 70/30% split where as the GS160 have a 60/40% split it may be worth trying the GS160 rims. In my opinion its not good to put washer/spacer on the hub to draw the tyre out further from the engine, there is a lip on the hub that holds the rim in place, if your rim goes beyond this then carnage is a possibility.
