Drive side seal retainer

In case its ever of use to someone else......

Two problems:

Firstly, the halite washer I had was 2.5mm uncompressed as oppposed to 1.5mm uncompressed on the new one.

Secondly, I used an mb retainer plate which is 0.7mm thinner.
After I had finished I only had 0.6mm clearance betweeen the crank and case. Minimum is 0.5mm. It doesn't take a genius to work out that neither solution would have worked in isolation.

I've always found that halite gaskets in the MEC gasket sets are too thick.

Are you using a drive side bearing with a built in seal?..I've done without the hallite washer in the past as the combination of the both were too thick
