Alright Timo, yes we were there then. There were three ways to get to Rhyl, the top road, the middle or the coast road.We all explained the reasons to plod why we had hammers under our seats (rear hubs and rims etc) but big George fell flat when he said the baseball bat was for on the beach. Ok said plod, where's the feckin ball?
Different times and not acceptable now of course, but that was the way it was.

High plains, you are are tad older than me, so must have gone to Rhyl about the same time as my older brother. You must have remembered running the gauntlet through deeside? As in concrete and bricks?
We used to go to the palace regularly in the late 70's just for a ride and still see some of the lads who used to go there now.
Timo, your lammy is going to blow up sometime anyway, so why not blow it up on sunday in the nice weather?
See you sunday,
Stu.

hi stu...... yes ,i remember the deeside events very well..... nearly every bank holiday i went to rhyl in 74/75/76 the queensferry scooterboys used to leave rhyl earlier than everyone else and line the streets with locals and greasers etc and chuck bricks etc at all the other scooter lads from out of the area  ( its not like that nowadays of course :P ) at the time the coast road was really the only way to get home, once through queensferry you could get on the roads to manchester/chester/birkenhead /wrexham etc etc........... one bank holiday monday i pulled up outside the palace hotel on the seafront... i had manchester on my sidepanels, but my swept up florida bars covered the MAN bit, so it looked like chester on the panels, from what i remember, queensferry scooterboys didnt get on with the chester scooterboys at the time..... next thing is... i was being chased out of town. me and a mate just managed to get to our campsite near abergele and pull the tank ariels down and they missed us and rode past  also some stoke on trent scooterboys used to swing chains and bats at us and others when we were going home. lots of in fighting with other clubs for some reason at the time  happy days :D
