Submerge the parts in a strong solvent (Zylene based would be your best bet). You should be able to get it from a local paint supplier, Industrial paint supplier would probably be better than an Automotive supplier.

Oh yeah, don't use a plastic bucket to hold the solvent in like someone I know :lol:

Cellulose thinners or Acetone will do it. But there is a lot of elbow grease involved and you need to be in a well ventilated space.

The trigger is the button on the shaft, you hold it penwise and push the button with your index finger

Looks a bit like a modelling air brush. Similar principle I should think.
