I had a Suzuki conversion done by JB tuning, MB V force reed valve , 30mm Phbh, JL Rh with massive casing mods.... Pulled 20 BHP on Johns low reading Dyno.

I done my best to break it. It was great fun and never ran out of revs, the power was savage and would absolutely fly... But around town it was a pig to ride and totally unpleasant.

But with most Vespa's show it a hill or a headwind and it didn't want to know

So in short IMHO....... Buy a TS1 Lambretta

Hi ducksta, I have two T5's running the MB 190. They use a standard T5 cylinder which is bored out and then sleeved. So the casings must be bored out to take the bigger cylinder spigot. The pistons in mine are from a Kawasaki jet ski. The pistons are only sold in pairs, so if you wanted to go down the diy route bare this in mind. If you want the wiesco part number let me know, I have it written down somewhere. As for the crank stroke one of mine uses the standard stroke and the other of mine uses a Worb5 long stroke crank with a 5mm cylinder spacer.

Also worth a thought is Kegra. They do a 190cc kit for the T5.

Are you building it yourself or letting your cheque book do the work ?

If you are doing the rebuild yourself i feel the performance is not as important as the achievement of having done it yourself whereas giving the work to a tuner/garage is more performance related, that's what you're paying for.

we do quite a few vespas with T5 mallosi kitted motors ,but dont really bother or advise overboring them TBH as the costs involved doesnt really justify the extra results .
a simple cut crank jobby or reed valve conversion makes up to 16/18bhp ish with a good torque figure...so bangs for bucks given that the right choice of pipe and gearing is used

Quote: "looked down the ts1 road mick bit exspensive for my budget" ...........check out the cost of a Quattrini and a TS1 looks a bargain matey.

The Quattrini is top kit and i think Chiselspeed sell them in North as well as CamLam.

Any kit can be made to fit but as i said before are you doing it yourself or paying someone. I'm sure some of the well known engineers could set it up but are you capable of doing it yourself..?
