I'm still left wondering though, why didn't Innocenti do it this way to start with?? :?

Then again, if it's been proven by Allstyles to improve cooling, then that's awesome! :D

Used to do it on smallframes to make it easier to get off without swinging the engine down,just trimmed the rear side off,never had any issues. Seems a good idea.

I don`t want to be seen as a pennypincher, but what is stopping you cutting down a standard metal cowling ? I must admit it does look a good idea, but why has nobody thought of this before?

the later indian cowlings have a larger cut out to improve hot air exit but why didnt they do this ?

Probably for the same reason they didn't do anti-dive disc brakes, TS1 kits, 34mm delortto's and expansion chambers.......lol ;-)
