How would this kit work with a 64mm stroke crank

Waiting for some tech info from Ron, but I understand that there MIGHT be the option of cylinders made to order with extra length to the top/bottom of the cylinder as required........interesting! :ugeek:

eden wrote:Duno about a 64 but a 62 would work great if you can find a low deck piston with pegs in the right places.

If anyone finds a 30mm deck piston that has suitable ring pegs please let me know.

due to the kit having the recessed head and the stroker cranks needing a packer youll be able to juggle the head and base gaskets to achieve an acceptable port specification.

Ron sent me a kit over a few months ago for evaluation and i recommended some changes to the port map of which it appears have now been included in the final castings as the transfers are now much lower which will lend itself better to stroker set ups
Look forward to the testing etc.
I believe Diablo are testing one so be nice to see how they get on too

i get
58/107 at 176* ex 123* tr 26.5bd
60/107 at 181* ex 131* tr 25bd
62/107 at 186* ex 138* tr 24bd
64/107 at 190* ex 145* tr 22.5bd

but with the recess set to 0 and the barrell lowered or packers adjusted can be dropped to
58/107 at 168* ex 112* tr 28bd
60/107 at 173* ex 121* tr 26bd
62/107 at 178* ex 129* tr 24.5bd
64/107 at 183* ex 137* tr 23bd
the ports would need adjusting still and the inlet duration changed to suit and the stroker cranks probably wont be 107 rod
as you can see the blow down is increasingly lost as stroke is added

for most the 60 stroke would be an easy build option and with packing available can be adjusted to a nice set up

The good lady has been asking me what I would like for my 40th. I'm sure an engraved watch ain't gonna give as much entertainment as this. This will be interesting. Take it your gonna be trying different size carbs ie 28/30/34?

It does look very good value for money indeed and some excellent thought has gone into this kit.
I think the demand is going to be very high for this kit especially if reliability is proved, as it looks excellent, but i do get the feeling that the price may steadily rise over the coming months as it is really good value for money!
I would certainly consider one!
Only downside for me personally is that it is piston port but if you put a reed valve on its still a very good price for what you get!
Well done Mr Moss!!

so what sort of blow down is good then, is there a % you should be looking at.sorry not much good at this tunning stuff

So my 64mm crank with its 120mm rod might not be a good combination
