I Just use a drop off superglue as that's what tino saatchi suggested when we met him in Sweden on eurolambretta

just make sure you get the one`s for oil/petrol and not air/water

A get you home bodge that is still going strong is to put a cable tie around carb body then one around manifold then attach the two cable ties with 2 more so carb is held to manifold by a tie at either side ....job done !!!

Ha....I thought i was the only one who had that idea . mines done 60-70 miles now and hasn`t moved / split / come loose etc etc ....Tosh wrote:Well chaps iv`e just bought some of this Blue Silicone Fuel & Oil Hose Elbow 90 Degree 35mm from autoperformanceonline,

This is tempting fate but I have never had a slit rubber and only ever had 1 carb fall off and that was because I hadn't got the clip on straight. This is on a variety of manifolds / rubbers and 30 PHBH and 28/30 PWK. Only ever used cheap ebay rubbers. I take care (usually 
) to make sure the raised rings in the rubber are engaged in the corresponding groove on the manifold and carb, you probably need both hose clips loose in order to make sure the rubber is fully seated when fitting the rubbere for the first time. Then tighten the hose clips making sure they sit square and close to the ends of the rubber but not quite flush. DON'T over tighten, They only need to be tight enough to stop the carb from slipping round plua a couple more turns. If you tighten too much then the rubber is going to tear which will leaad to it splitting.
