Usually a Breathsweet Tino filter doesn't affect performance and jetting, so i always use one.
Expecially on dirty and sandy roads down there in Italy.

i just thought it would be easyer for you to show us one seen as you would probably have accsess to a dyno more than most, granted anything that obstructs flow will affect performance but what about the affect that air flowing past the opening of a carburetor at say 50 mph to that of one with a more stable flow with a filter on, surley air going past the carb opening at speed will have an affect on fuel being sucked out just as much as being sucked in wont it . im not having a go at you so please dont spit your dummy out because iv questioned your knowladge,

the effect that you refer to "air rushing past the carb opening" is SO slight that its almost insignificant and imperceptable at say 50 mph ,but rather interestingly at much higher speeds this effect can be used to enhance performance by slightly pressurising the inlet tract just like yamaha/kawasaki etc did by using the ram air systems ..so a forward facing carb or bellmouth etc could work better ...but the trouble is that you need to be doing at least a ton before this even starts lol

I ditched the breathsweet as it strangled the carb tb h, it certainly is more responsive at all rev ranges open and sucking ..lol..

Thanks for that Leigh, just that I was told a while ago by a well known dealer said they weren't available and sold my mate a brand new carb instead. When I had a scoot dynoed with a Mallossi filter it made 14 hp then 17 removed so it proved to me that they do restrict air flow

I've never run a filter on any of my kits and have never seen that kind of wear.
Maybe if lived by a quary.

Thats my 35mm TMX on a TS1 WOT on a dyno. Never run a filter but had to change the rings after 7500 miles

looks like you have that dialed in then,, dont think id leave a 2 stroke 7500 miles before a ring change though
