Progress slow at the mo. Waiting for engine to come back before starting rebuild.

Just about given up on getting a decent original mudguard. Any recommendations on new/remade LiS style mudguards? Prices vary -- I've seen £50 at Riviera Scooter Parts to £84 at Camlam and then beyond.

Where is good for quality remade body parts?

Ummm - so make that 27 years then

All work stopped on this last year as I had a building project on the go at the same time which took all my time and more. Anyway back on the case now, will be slow, but hopefully done by the end of summer.

I've got all the body parts together now, although some need some work. I've also decided to get someone else to paint it now otherwise I'll never get it finished.

Image

I was looking at Mick Neill at Custom Paint Studio to do the job - like the idea that he'll do the dry build and all that. If anyone has got any experience of Mick's work I'd like to hear it, but looks good from what I've seen.

Also started putting the engine back together so it started from this:

stripped down and main engine parts cleaned

Now at this point

There'll be an Imola going on, but I stopped at this point because it dawned on me I'd need a wide small end bearing, which I need to get, amongst a few other odds and sods.

So -- hoping to make better progress this year....

And you may have to chop the battery tray off to get your carb on.

Thanks yes -- battery tray removed since that pic was taken.

The thing that's buggin me at the moment is trying to get the handle on the side panel pointing forward.

Image

New clip & handles, everything looks symmetrical but one side points forward and this side point up slightly.
It may be an issue with the side panel, because on the side that's ok there's a gap of about an inch between the panel and the floorboard support strut -- on the other side there's almost no gap. If I pull the panel out the handle does seem to go down a bit and point forward more.

Does that make any sense? :? Any ideas most welcome.

Note the panels were copper plated and then blasted or something - this is how I got them. I'll let the painter sort that out ;)

Chrs, Mark.
