Having gone through a similar battle with my cutdown i can fully appreciate the time, trouble, and frustration that goes into biulding a project like that. Unfortunatley mine is never likely to look as good as yours, you must be very pleased with the way it has turned out.

That is the ONLY cutdown I have ever seen and liked!

Love the old bars and LD horncast

Tank suits it

Pipe looks good - it probably wouldnt suit a big can out the side.

Well done - Hope you get it registered soon

so what is the deal with dvla ? are they saying that another scooter is registerd with the numbers on that frame? are your numbers on the frame ok? then it may be a matter for the police as well

Abolutely marvellous!!! Love everything about it.

As others have said...hope the registering goes through ok.

I also built a bike up to completion from just a frame without it being reg'd. Never knew any history of the frame other than model/year. When the VRO gave me the date for an inspection I'd just been reading about what was involved and what certain outcomes could be if any problems. I was worried that they'd come back with something similar to what they've told you or that it was a write off or whatever and I wouldn't get age related. I got mine ok in the end, but just said built from spare parts on V5.

Used to work for a motor group and we found that a dealer had put the same reg on 2 seperate cars and they'd been taxed and on the road for nearly 3 months without DVLA spotting the duplicate reg...so obviously DVLA can and do make cock ups. Hope yours proves to be just a simple clerical error or something.

By the way did I say lovely bike?

I was wondering about that as well!

I am assuming that Innocenti never replicated a frame number, so if yours is the genuine article, someone, somewhere is riding around on a ringer.

Unless the frame you have used was an old barn find, which was unknowingly still registered by the dvla?

good point ...so are they saying that a scoot is taxed and mot'ed at this time or just that the number allready coresponds to a reg number?
