I have got hold of a new indian crankcase and old ts1 barrel at a good price but now I've had time to study it properly I'm concerned that the case transfers are overported.
The transfer on the mag side has been ported out till their is only 2mm of metal at its thinnest point. Is this ok????
It looks similar to the picture on the bottom of page 51 in stickys original book but not as bad as the picture on page 86.
It has had some type of chemical metal/ epoxy putty put on the outside to increase the gasket face.

Thoughts and options please, Dave

3mm minimum seems to be the ballpark figure of minimum gasket area, ive also backed mine up with a suitable epoxy filler in thin areas and had no problems, all is not lost....build up more than you need and carefully file back to the gasket face, and use silicone on both sides of your gasket

Thanks for the feed back. This was the answer I was hoping for.
With it being an abandoned project I did fancy stripping it down to get the cases welded up.
