Just been round to mates lock up which has revealed 3 lambrettas all series 3s that were brought a while back as non runners and then stored with the idea of restoring them (which never happened). Guy who owns them isnt really into scooters and now wants shot although he may restore and keep one.

after a group of us had looked at them we then had a chat as to what they were worth each. I havent got any pics but will do best to give as best description as i can.

Italian LI150 (italian import, un -registered)
Scooter in bits, all parts look there and straight. Lots of rust can barley see what colour paint it was. Looks straightish...no major dents or damage that i can see but , non-runner matching number about 200 out i think?
Would need compalte rebuild

Italian SX 150 (italian import, un-registered)
Oh- dear a real mess, matching numbers. Non runner. Covered in rust, bent leggies, outrigger on flywheel side pushed in from what looks like impact damage, bottom of loop by bridge piece also pushed in, carb bashed in all from what looks like same impact, could well see you chucking the leggies, front mudguard and so on. I think the frame may also be bent but you would have to strip it down to confirm this?

Spanish series 3 with (import un reg)
best nic of all 3, non-runner. has been blasted before storing but now has surface rust. Loop has been removed and a rod/bar has been welded to the frame underneath where the tool box would sit. Not sure if this was a previos attempt to make the loop hinge from this rod? Looks as though the loop could be welded back on quite easily. Scoot looks straight and has right forks with factory brackets and lugs for fat dampers.

He has been offered a registered series 3 indian GP rat with double tank and rapido kit for all 3. Scoot runs really well but doesnt look to pretty (sorry john.. :D). I think this isnt a bad deal but was wondering what people think re prices for each scoot and if the deal being offered is kosher.

Over to you... Gaz if you want to add anything or correct anything ive said feel free.... :D

At first glance I thought blokey with the GP was taking the micky but when you read closely its perhaps not such a bad deal.

I reckon if you broke the 3 for spares you'd get £2-3 grand. Not sure what kind of running registered lamby you'd get for that money.

Yeah its a diificult one. the problem the guy has is that hes not mechanical and as such needs to pay a 3rd party to buy/source new parts and then build them. I suspect that by the time he had done that and paid for each to be rgistered he may not make any money, even lose money?

The guy who wants them however has the know how and equipment to sort them. The origonal idea was for my mate to take the scooters restore each one and they would then split profit after the owner had taken his initial investment, im guessing £500 for each? When my mate looked at how bad they were he didnt fancy the deal. Cant say i blame him... :D The other option he has is to pay my mate £20 an hour to restore them, but i think he could lose money when he comes to sell them as they all look like a lot of work.

Agree best way woulod be to break them and sell them on fleabay.

Think he is going to pay to have the Li rebuilt, see what that ends up costing and then decide what to do with the other 2...prob not a bad idea...
