The bike is dismantled and the engine is apart for a winter overhaul. It shows the clutch plates and springs could do with replacing. I've had a Saigon/Morris motorcycle clutch sat around unused for a while, so this will be fitted in place of the current 4 plate. It should more than handle my engine and if anything is slight overkill for the BHP my bike produces. I was saving it for something else but now want to try it out as it's a 47 tooth sprocket and will give me a slighter higher ratio.
Currently the set up is LI 150 16/46 running a Suzuki 190 on TV barrel, with TV rodded crank and a 44mm clubman.
I'm removing the clubman for next season and fitting an expansion. I've bought a Chiselspeed M-tech advance/retard unit and plan to set it up to mirror the Augusto 7000, which I hope will restore some of the bottom end characteristics lost by removing the clubman.
I have a few pipes which I can try out, but would prefer to get a definate idea of which will pull 17/46 with the aid of the M-Tech and then spend more time in getting it set up/jetted/dyno'd correctly as opposed to swapping pipes around.
The pipe that I really would like to use and hope it works is a Mikeck MK6 I bought recently (looks very similar to DJ), I'll have to trim the back of the runnerboard quite a bit, but would settle for that if it performed well enough. The other pipes I've got to choose from are the following: a JL2 and JL4 which I think are both top end revvy pipes and might not pull to well. There's also a PM25 and an NK hung up to choose from, which again I think are going to be too revvy at the expense of the bottom end.
I don't want to shell out on another pipe and hope that anyone with any experience of similar set ups or ran something akin in the past might be able to offer some pointers.
If the conclusion is the current clubman is the only thing that will pull this, then at least I already have it...I'm hoping for some positive feedback re' the Mikeck though!
Thanks in advance for any advice
Stu.
Selecting the correct pipe?
From what I have seen the Adspeed, ADS3 will fit the bill very nicely.
Best Regards

Anyway to rephrase things...Would like to use the Mikeck if it will pull 16/47 LI 150 with help of M-Tech.
Anybody have experience of MK6 Mikeck or know what set up they were originally designed for?

My RS185 pulls 16x46 on an Li box with a JL4 perfectly. And it's quite a peaky tune (stage six).
Unless you're a portly gentleman, I wouldn't be too concerned about which pipe. It'll be fine

Took the Mikeck to get dechromed today and it turns out it's virtually horizontal...maybe a track pipe and not compatible with a kickstart.
That's the chromer's opinion, but he did say "I think that might have been mine once", which is plausable as he's mates with who I bought it off. They go well on a Honda 205 he said anyway!
Doesn't look like it's been fitted to a bike in years so could be an honest mistake on sellers behalf...I'd like to think so! I assumed it'd be similar angle to a DJ and just require a runner board trim. My mistake too not sitting it on anything to check.
Once dechromed it maybe be cut and rewelded or sold on for a Saigon DJ. RS Clubman getting blasted and restoved Satin Black, so maybe that'll go back on!
