The whole colour scheme is going to work so well together. Can I suggest some Black and Red pinstriping to finish?

Nah, I was gonna go to Bondi and sit on the dole - easier money that way

Landed yesterday morning... mmm nice and sunny!

Been out doing a bit of work on the SS180 today, should be up and running later.

GP later this week!

Are you north or south island? and how did you get all your stuff over?, your dungeon in the UK looked to crammed with bikes and all-sorts..just to land one day working on a bike the next..

Hey all,

I just realised that I never posted up the build pics or finished scooter!

so here goes:
My stuff arrived near the end of Feb, one saturday morning
Image

I started work that afternoon! such was the wait and excitement!
I was aiming to build the bike completely in a week using my evenings only.

Finally I made the ride out the following saturday...

Mrs Balls came along on my SS180

I had a fair few teething problems, as to be expected with trying to build a bike so quickly. Most notably I put the rear hub on incorrectly! All the teething problems took ages longer to sort out. I have only just got the speedo working and I had a problem with my fuel tank which isnt sorted yet. But here are a few shots of the bike over the last few months!

My wife bought me this plate for my birthday! I just need to get my bike registered in NZ to put it on!

And finally some bling a la Rimini Lambretta! Added today!

I've played around a lot with the disc. Inititally I had a scootRS hydaulic conversion, but I have gone back to cable pull for compliancing. It's actually working better than it ever did hydraulically! I had to get my disc skimmed so it didnt pulse. It was a new disc so I was a bit pissed about having to do this!

This is easily the best handling scooter I have ever ridden! I think its a combination of the solid series 1 frame and the newly rebuilt forks with Camlam springs

Most interestingly for me (but I'm a geek) was the fact that the PM Fat Mamba pipe fitted the best on the series 1 of any of the other pipes I tried!

I hope you like the finished bike!

Cheers,

Christiaan

p.s it will be out in force for this ride I am organising for next year!
