Anyone know where I can buy the alloy locking washer that goes between the locking nut and the mk 1 headset that is then bent to stop the nut coming loose.
The dealers I normally use don't have them in stock, I have tried SIP, Scooter Center Koln, Allstyles, Beedspeed,
Thanks Skidmark
T5 Mk 1 headset locking ring
Thanks wack 63, unfortunately they don't have what I need, it comes under 'Head set' on the Vespa T5 mk 1 illustrations and not the forks as you would expect, as I suppose its what locks the head set to the forks
but nobody seems to have them
I will keep trying

just had another look around and cant see one but in your pic you only show one nut on top of your headset as all the ones ive done have two which tighten together so you dont need that lock ring
The set up I have is correct as per the Piaggio T5 Mk1 parts catalog drawings, the scooter it's a very early (1985) non auto lube model, not sure if the two locking nuts was a later factory modification, I know that Allstyles stock the two nut option so i guess that's the way I will have to go.
thanks anyway

That's just a tab washer mate, once everything is tightened down you indent it to stop the nuts coming loose. A bit of loctite on the securing nuts does more or less the same job.
