Can you buy these anywhere?

The retaining clip for the bottom buffer in my forks is busted,can you buy anywhere the retaining clip to weld in? Tried Scooter restorations but no good.There must be some anorak with a collection of them in an old Golden Virginia tin.

They're not difficult to make from sheet steel, I feel this might be your best option

what he said ...strip of steel ....measure a rubber and bend in a vice or something....getting the old out and clean is an arse somtimes though

or convert to bolt-in bottom buffers..?
makes rebuilding the forks a whole heap easier
Did that to mine when one of the bottom clips broke, made them bolt in at the bottom only, much easier to fit the bottom buffers now

I'd convert them to bolt in as mentioned - at least on the bottom. Grind out the left over burrs and then start drilling. I've always found the bottom buffers a pain to clip in with progressive springs and damned near impossible while the forks are in the bike.
