lambrettas like vespas have more weight naturally on the offside,and so it makes most sence to put side stands on the offside ,as this is the way that is most secure.

any side stand should be folded up before kicking a scooter off.

if you doubt me ...try this..
hold your scoot straight up ,off the stand.....then let go ..and see which way it goes...?

Well I finally got a job! so in a month or two I might be able to afford paint! (well, after christmas / new years and a trip to New Zealand for a month in Feb maybe!)

I saw this really freakin nice mercedes ML63 wagon thing parked outside Harrods this afternoon - it had a Matt white paintjob that looked really trick! Now I'm thinking about how to incorporate that into my paint scheme!

I saw two McLaren SLR mercs drive past within 5 minutes of each other too! (I was there for work not shopping!)

Anyway back to the scooter... I'm having a clean out of the arch this weekend so I might see if I have some stuff to ebay for funds!

A bit of an update...

I had a piece welded onto the horncast to replace a broken bit

had some broken bits taken out and the holes welded up... wasnt too happy about it though!

They forgot to weld up and retap the horncover hole so I tried it myself with my mig welder and some ali rod

I also had my wheel rims powdercoated and have painted a few bits in the finished colour to see what they will look like

I'm moving back to New Zealand at Christmas time so I'm trying to get everything painted by the end of November!

PROGRESS! for now anyway!

Its all painted - the final bits got done last night.

The removals company comes tomorrow to pack my workshop!
Estimated delivery will be mid Feb - looks like I'll be busy then!

My friend who painted it wasn't too happy last night when he got home - there were a few runs.
