Barrel and head spec'd... and corrected where necessary.. speak to djb as its his machine.
The barrel would have been mapped and all areas measured therefore.. then a pipe is designed and developed in straight config.. its then altered to deliver how, where, and when he wants it and delivering the correct temps too.. The delivery is how it saves gearboxes-he will design for that and he has enough experience with the age old lambretta gearbox to understand its limitations. You bring that high hp in too hard too soon what is going to happen? Anyway.. after the straight pipe is developed and correct the curled version is constructed.. from there more tests are done to see what the losses are if any.. and the if so modifications are done again to the 'production' version.
After thats completed he will then test for literally hours non stop on the dyno and see whats what.. see if anything breaks. Is it still consistently making the same power? . Then it will be road tested extensively. All this before it goes to the customer.

As above, may have to change the design on next batch, as we are going for later cylinder with a bigger stroke.tony wrote:Barrel and head spec'd... and corrected where necessary.. speak to djb as its his machine.

£890 was just for the pipe,it may be worth every penny but as id already gone well over budget on the engine it came to a point where i needed to save a bit(the wife was going mad!!) but if i ever win the lottery ill come get an exhaust off you dave!!lol
If you do win,you could always collect the one you ordereddaveyluv wrote:£890 was just for the pipe,it may be worth every penny but as id already gone well over budget on the engine it came to a point where i needed to save a bit(the wife was going mad!!) but if i ever win the lottery ill come get an exhaust off you dave!!lol

Is there gonna be a dyno chart to show the results.....(read the thread once but working through a few Tiger beers and am having short term memory loss!!)

I should have a dyno chart of my TDR pipe soon. I just need to reconnect my power valve tomorrow and then go and get it booked in. I took it out for a spin today and realised that you have to lean forward quite a bit when the power comes in, IF not the front wheel is skyward bound
Thank f@@k I opted for a really long first gear!!!

Stay tuned..............
Its a 3rd gear power run you want to see wayne... a 1,2,3,4 doesnt tell you much at all .. ok fella..? let me know how you get on.

my bike is going up to diablo s as soon as the other 3 dac exhausts are done as it makes sense to get them all done together,if it dont make it cheaper it will make it a fun day out!,
Davy, you would have had to modify this pipe if your rads are under your running boards,I think Dave B has his in his toolbox.DJB wrote:If you do win,you could always collect the one you ordereddaveyluv wrote:£890 was just for the pipe,it may be worth every penny but as id already gone well over budget on the engine it came to a point where i needed to save a bit(the wife was going mad!!) but if i ever win the lottery ill come get an exhaust off you dave!!lol.Anyway good to see your up and running. Any more pics of your bike.
Also mine and my brothers original pipes have now done about another trouble free 1500 miles after Chis Sadd made a couple of changes, also fitted S.L.J. brackets to beef up tailcan.(Brother laid his to rest on the A 303

Looking at your pic's (nice pipe by the way) have you any thoughts or pic's of a bracket around your tailcan.Think you might need it.
Just one other thing use SAE 90 if your running one of Jerome's clutches.
my exhaust is built around the rads underneath, thats why i never went for a charlie pipe as it would mean spending out on daves set up which i wasnt prepared to do,the exhaust has another mount be the can which you cant see unless you look underneath, its connected to a modified oil level plug which chris made for me and mark for patches pipes, arent you and your brother having these pipes??i have had a centre spring put in and it dont slip at all now just aint no good for rideouts unless your popeye!!!lol
