Fuel Flow Problem
Fitted a standard stainless petrol tank. When I connect fuel pipe from fuel tap(fast flow fuel tap) to carb the fuel flow is really low. If I disconnect it from carb end it flows quickly, like it's not blocked from that end. I am now having problems starting the bike, which I didn't have before. I am assuming this is a fuel problem. What did I do wrong??

How do you mean it is slow from the carb? If you have the bowl off it can't flow as fast because it is governed by the float needle and jet and with the bowl on once it is full it will not appear to flow as on tick over only a small amount is used. Also is the tank cap clear to breath? and inline filters slow the flow down as well.
Hi Wack. When I turn on my fuel, in the past I could visually see the fuel flow from the tank through the fuel pipe to the carb. Now when I do that the flow is minimal or even none at all, which made me think it was blocked. However when I disconnect the fuel pipe from the carb end and turn on the fuel tap it flows quite quickly. I am having problems starting the bike which has only begun since I changed the petrol tank. Sounds like a strip and clean is needed for the carb to me.

This may sound stupid or i am reading this wrong but fuel flow will be slow when connected to the carb if the float bowl is already full .Remove the float bowl and check flow through the needle valve!
Only guessing you changed the tank because it was causing problems (dirt or something)If the bike was running well before you changed the tank,i stands to reason the carb maybe clogged with residue from the old tank
