how fast should a standard DL 125 go
stickys book says 57 mph but in mark haines unofficial lambretta manual update it says 45 mph because of the gearing.

we put a bog standard gp200 up the strip at santa pod a few year back and it did 58mph,, i reckon a 125 would be near to 45mph flat out,,,

you've got to remember that when Innocenti published their speed for each model, there were no advertising "standards" ( basically they could claim whatever they wanted). Consequently I firmly believe that ALL their speeds claimed were way over the top- probably by 10MPH or so
Jaguar used to do the same thing with the E Type stating it would reach 150 MPH (it wouldn't)
So TV200 at claimed c65 was probably nearer 55MPH true speed etc etc

I remember riding to Yarmouth back in the 80's ,I was on a standard vespa 100, and one of our club had a standard DL125 and he couldn't keep up with me most of the time. It was only on a long down hill stetch that he could ease past me!
Slow is the new fast!
i thought a 125 lammy was just a myth and only existed on log books
