Any suggestions on where to get a SS Petrol tank for a Series 2. In Ireland(Republic) so trying to keep postage costs down.

If your just after a standard tank there are a few dealers who sell them Buzzsolomoto , KBR scooters and a few more advertised in scootering , Long range try Stainless scooter products

Ok, so I bought a new SS tank. Before it's fitted do I need to do anything to it.... ie clean/rinse it out, seal it. Bought it from KBR scooter stall at IOW. Standard tank, not long range.

At least clean it out. I got a 12l one from Cambridge Lambretta and fitted (and filled!) it without thinking to clean it. There was lots of dusty black slag from the welding floating about inside. Most of it came out using a car aerial/magnet tool but cleaning it up front would have helped.

Also watch your fingers when you fit it (wear gloves) if it came with SS tank straps, I found they had very sharp edges and cut my fingers.
