OK so it has been a good few years since I've had too run any of my Lammys in...........

Just had my top end rebored and honed,
New MBD RaceTour piston,
New reprofiled head,
New race crank,
New engine bearings etc etc....................

What would you guys reckon for running in? Miles? Speed? etc etc

Cheers in advance

Emotive subject, as to how long to run-in for what mix of oil to use etc.....

I was given these guidelines and they worked for me...

000 to 100 miles 35 mph and 1/3 throttle max
100 to 300 miles 40 mph and 1/3 throttle max
300 to 500 miles 45 mph and 1/2 throttle max
500 to 600 miles 50 mph and 1/2 throttle max
600 to 700 miles 55 mph and 3/4 throttle max
700 to 800 miles 60 mph and max throttle in short bursts

I always use best synthetic oil I can and run at 3%.... but each to their own. Less oil = greater cooling from the fuel, but not enough and you risk not lubricating and generating too much heat and seizing.

Bones, dont be gay! Just ride the thing. You on that iron barrel? If so,i did about 500 ripping round the country lanes or town roads.Still giving it beans but not in each gear that long, run the semi synthetic oil at the same ratio that I do now once run in.
