These have been discussed in several threads on hear, have a search on SR190. The kits were developed aqnd initially sold by Scooter Restorations but that came to an end when the Indian manufacturer started selling them out the back doorToppy wrote:hi there has anyone any info on these?

Out of the box they are pretty rough and will need some tidying up of the ports and the bore clearance checked/re-honed. Also, I doubt if the pistons are of a very high quality. That said, with work and casreful assembley they can perform very well.

They need a looooot of work, but once going they are like a mugello. Very fun kit if you know what you're doing.

I agree with all of above, I had one with a cheap piston in, one of the ring pegs dissapeared inwards, allowing the ring to spin and half the ring dissappear, only found this out when the bike started to run weak, it had marked one of the ports, luckily the part ring had gone through the exhaust port, I would suggest buying a kit with at least a mahle piston and barrel that has had a fettling by a competant person.

I've a 65mm Racetour piston in my MB tuned SR barrel. I think they start at 64mm.
If you're thinking of buying one, I'd just try and get the barrel, not the full kit. I'd then get a competent tuner to do a good road/race tune, good piston, and head matched. Tell the tuner what you want from the ride, your gearing, your carb, and your exhaust, and you should have a scoot that's a joy to ride

^^ agree with the Jester, get yerself a barrel only.
You could try converting it to a reedvalve, using the RD350 piston kit and a 115 / 116 mm rod with one of the many new reedblocks now available? Cheap, reliable and economical - everything a scooter was designed to be
