its a common problem on jl 4 s,
maybe stronger springs would also help as well as extra bracing

It's a very common problem with the JL4 I remember watching one on a mates GP totally disintergrate on the way back from Brid a couple of years ago after the YSA Coast2Coast and when I say disintergrate I mean disintergrate. The main chamber cracked straight down the middle along it's length as if it had been hit with a sledge hammer and fell to the road surface where it just exploded into a thousand bits . The well known Lambretta racer & tuner Vinnie Smith was the rider for those of you that know him.

I've had two JL4's crack, both in the same place as edens. The snail one I have also cracked on the ubend that the muffler is attached to and cracked where the bracket is joined to the expansion chamber...twice (makes me wonder why I bought the the second one
)
