What do you want it to do? How heavy are you? Do you want to be lumbered down by things like maintainance? What brakes are you putting on your bike? What's your budget?

It's easy to point you towards a revvy engine that'll be 'fast' but a bitch to ride when you're not in the mood.

This is far too many questions!

I drank 3 bottles of wine and then went on ebay, now I have a series two frame and a GP150 engine minus top end.

I want it to sit at a genuine 65/70mph, I weigh more than a tonne of feathers but less than a tonne of bricks, maintenance not a problem as I prefer being in the shed than talking to the Mrs. This'll probably end up being my daily ride so don't want it too be mental but at the same time I don't want it to be tame and dull. Don't really have a budget as it'll be built over a few years so it'll just be a case of buying one thing a month until it's done.

This'll be the first Lammy I have built, have owned 3 in the past although one of them had a P2 lump in it :baddevil:

If it's a daily ride you're after, and you want it to do 65/70 all day, PM Richard Taylor and see if he's got any GT kits left ;)

I would also like my scooter to sit at a genuine 65/70, but most of the time if your like me your riding with a bunch of other scooters that are not all up to the same sort of engine spec. This usually means (if you have an engine that sits comfortably at 65/70 mph) that your off the power sitting on a rough spot on the carburation or down to third gear making the ride more of a chore than a pleasure.

If you ride solo, or with a small group of other scoots with similar power, then this becomes a pleasure to ride.

Not many do actually cruise at 70mph constant on rallys (but is possible on a well sorted engine) but many seem to sit at 60/65, then when passing slower scooter usually accelerating as they go bye untill far enough ahead, then ease off to their more comfortable riding speed.
Dont get sucked into the big numbers when & if you decide to build a high speed cruising engine. Big BHP and bragging rights won't make it reliably fast.

also cruisong at those speeds will use alot of fuel so more stops will be needed unless u have a long range tank but even then arse ache will come into play

Can't believe i'm getting pulled up on posting what I think are pretty realistic speeds, when others think their P2 with a simmo will do 115MPH :D

Don't want it to be able to sit at 70MPH all day long, just want it to be able to reach a TRUE 70MPH, about 20% of my miles are rally miles, i don't drive so use a scoot everyday.

Shocky, you don't have to ride until you run out of fuel, in fact on the way back from Bridlington last year I stopped twice and didn't fill up either time :D

I don't want a fuel efficient 4 stroke, I want a dirty 'orrible gas guzzling 2-stroke that makes women and small children cry!

ok ok i give in lol im not knocking anything wish i could afford a tuned lammy ....anyway EDEN what sort of fuel consumption do you get ?

I can't afford it either mate, hoping if I can squeeze one thing under her radar every month I should have all the parts within a couple of years, it'll probably end up hot rod stylee as I can never bring myself to spend all that money on a nice paint job.

Although I can see the point on spending it on big fat evil looking front shocks, so might need to put them your way at some point :D
