Trying to put the toolbox back in the cutdown Gp im building, problem i have is it never had a toolbox fitted to it when i got the frame so now im trying to put the rubber on the rim of the box but for the life of me i cant fathom out which way the profile of it goes :? . I could take the toolbox out of my other Gp and have a look but i think thats a lot of work :(

A picture would be really helpful if anyone has one 8-)

Update

Just found a clip on utube which shows it being fitted to a normal toolbox, would have helped if i said this one has been turned into a tank

Think the best thing to do is rewrite this so

Trying to fit a toolbox converted into a petrol tank.

The rubber that was fitted to it was much larger in diameter but i cant use it as it is perished and split. The replacement rubber i bought is smaller in size and as it has no "L" shaped lip to fix it over it wont stay on.

So where do i get a rubber that fits on a converted tank or how did you fit one?

I found a Vespa tool box rubber cut to fit along the bottom, same length for the top, and two longer lenths to fit the sides, had this fitted for a few years now and still ok.
