The mk 1 was the original bolt on carb (not like the mk 2 with the later conventional rubber mount) Alot of these early mk 1 Amals were set up for four strokes, although some were converted for two stroke use. If its a Four stroke one, they are hard, if not near Impossible to set up properly on a two stroke, owing to the appature that the needlejet and needle enter the venturi through, the two stroke version has a brass nozzle that protrudes higher into the venturi than the four stroke, and different needle jets without side holes in them.... All the best 8-) 8-)

yepp, it´s the 2stroke version.

...and needle JET is 107

what about the main jet?
they jets are not so easy to get hold of here in germany. although i think the jets are the same as the ones from the mk2!?

i only have a 200, 210, 220 and a 230 main jet....do i have a chance with these :D

...or am i completly wrong?

my mk1 have 2 adjusters in the top. one for the throttle slide the other for the air valve.

but i´ve seen many pics using only one cable. what they did to the air valve?
without the cable the air valve slide is at it´s lowest position and blocks the induction pipe.
