Whats the best way to clean a ram-air filter?

if you use air filter oil, which you should, i use white spirit, soak and squeeze after, but do not wring as you will tear it

I`m painting the house, so white spirits are pleanty.

The filter oil i use is super sticky, so was wondering what I could clean it with.

white spirit washes the oil instantly, on contact

Thanks, Job done. Judging by the colour and ammount of poo that came out of it, I should do it more often.
