Not sure what to make of this but a mate who has an rb needed to replace his rings but couldnt find ones to match his early piston type in a hurry. Was put in contact with a company that sells the same piston. This company sells only quad bikes and said that whilst they couldnt sell him the rings on there own they were happy to sell him the piston and rings for £35...!.
Hes since picked up his new piston and fitted it without any fettling to his scoot. Hes over the moon as the scoot now shifts where as before it was a little slower. The thing that really got me was the price, iv just paid over £20 for rings alone.... :x

Obviosly this is early days and it might blow up in a week (hope not dave), will be intresting and ill be reprting back on its progress.

My first RB20 had a yam "blaster" piston which i think is a quad bike
When i was young my Mom said "if you haven't got anything nice to say, say nothing at all " ..................... and people wonder why I'm quiet around them !

I think the question here is to ask "why did AF change from the yam piston to the currently supplied one?"

Was it a genuine Yamaha Blaster piston & rings or a pattern piston kit?
