reedspeed are doing a 2 for 80 quid deal on kwak steering dampers, they seem to be a bit of a marmite product , where they are either loved or hated.
i've got a pair of chiggy's dampers[ good product!] on my li3 with 3 stage mb springs, the set up is maybe a little stiff so i was thinking of putting these on my gp with standard springs.
would the kwaks on soft setting work well with the mb springs?
i'm running a decently set up in board disc so no anti dive etc
anybody got similar set up?
kawasaki dampers...the verdict?
Somewhere around the third to fourth setting on these dampers suits most normal road riding I run mine with original springs and larger (thicker) top washer, Ive used these for over twenty years on several scooters Ive owned.
there's better options available but I like them.

thanks, i'll think i'll take the plunge
.........fitted today, first impressions are good, got them on 3rd setting with mb 3 stage springs and feels good, put chiggys dampers on my gp with standard springs and that feels just right now.....
Twenty odd years ago most race scooters were fitted with these dampers, even Mr Webster on his lap record holding scooter used them over standard dampers.Avantone wrote:They make a good steering damper, but you really need different settings for compression and rebound
There are better setups available but if you preload the springs with a suitable spacer to get the maximum travel from the springs and Set the dampers so that they give a good feel for the road, there still better than most standard steups
but as Avontone says adjustable compression and rebound would be the best way forward, but for £80 about as good as you will get for the money, IMO.
...... does anyone know if a set of gators would fit over kwak dampers?
