The weight of the rider will be a factor. ;)

19x46 for 4.8
20x46 for 4.6

20 x 47 would give 4.7...
anyone else find that good for a similar weight of rider in the same terrain...?

To be fair without any idea of port timings its difficult to say. How have you achieved 230cc by overboring or long stroking?

In that case I'd say 19/46 or as sean says 20/47. Seans way saves you buying a rear sprocket.
Bufficus' answer saves you having to buy a chain.
Depends what you have in the shed I suppose :D
Thinking about it there must be loads of decent 46T crown wheels about that are Italian and allow you to use needle rollers instead of a bush. Maybe 19/46 good just for that especially seeing as theres the odd hill up that way!

I've been thinking the same ,MRB tuned TS1 225 with Devtour peak hp @7500 on dyno but will rev to 8400 in 4th using Indian GP200 18 x47 on the road.So have been thinking of altering the gearing for a more relaxed 4th when doing rallies.I weigh 10 stone and no hills round here but can't decide on sprockets. My other GP cast 225 runs Italian GP 200 box ,20 x46 and revs out in 4th but is much nicer to tour on,porting is similar to TS1 timings on exhaust and transfers. So any input would be appreciated thanks
