I've just fitted a "Koso GP style" Tacho to my GP (12V DC). The instructions list several ways of picking up the ignition signal. The two that look applicable to a Lammy fitted with 12V electronic ignition are:
- wrapping 5 turns of wire around the HT lead (and taping in place); or
- connecting in parallel with the wire that comes from the pick up sensor on the stator (the red wire on mine that connects to the CDI).

My question is, has anyone tried these methods? and is the signal from the pick up sensor on the stator safe to connect to the tacho?

Your thoughts/experiences would be appreciated (before I cock it up)

Cheers

Nigel

Both ways work.

Thanks chaps, it looks like I won't harm it using either method then. :)
I'm a bit wary, having fried one I used to use in a mini and couldn't get the CEV one from eBay to work.
