I am just in the process of fitting the new Monza 225 top end (with the super Monza flat piston) and my quandry is:
I am fitting with a 60/107 crank and currently when dialling in the timing etc... with a 1mm packing plate the piston is virtually level with the top of the cylinder, also at BDC the transfer port is not fully cleared ( a miniscule 0.2mm) however after speaking with Camlam the squish recommendation is 1.5mm so what is the best course of action, Use a thicker base plate to clear the transfer port 1.5 or 2mm are available or alternatively use a base gasket each side of the plate and compliment this with a 0.5mm head gasket, i also have the MB thicker black base gasket which measures 0.7mm.

The issue is the limited head gasket's available at this time for the new doweled head of only 0.3 and 0.5mm, any help gratefully received as i am unsure which is the best resolution of adding the clearance to achieve the squish.
Thanks

my prefered choice would be to use a thicker base and no head gasket, no more than 1.5 for squish tho i would go lower than that
