Maybe coincidence, but today i was working with a customer to solve an issue with his plugs sooting up and prematurely expiring....when out of the blue someone phoned for advice on an identical issue. Both were piston ported Lambos, delly carbs, NGK plugs running BGM stators......both finding that the plugs were sooting up and burning out after only 30 miles or so.

Anyone else having problems with a BGM/NGK combo....or is this just a wierd coincidence?

You could Polarity check the spark that emits from the spark plug end of the HT.

I bet on coincidence.
I have used with BGM both Champion and NGK plugs,
for many miles without problems.

wasnt there a thread recently about counterfeit ngk plugs, people where having running problems with ngk plugs, swapping to champion or nippon denso cured the problem, these lesser well known brands arent worth ripping off by the counterfeiters due to there low sales volume, ngk's are where the money is,cheers all.

Funny you should say that. Me and Chris (CSPE) were dynoing a scoot yesterday and I was having trouble with the rev pic up. I changed the nippon plug for a NGK and found it not only cured the pick up probem but changed the airfuel reading and appered to give it more power.
I need to do some more scientific tests because we also saw a difference in the curve between BR8ES and BR9ES..
To be scientific I need to make sure each run was at the same temp and make sure there are no other variables which we didn't have time for but based on yesterday the nippon denso doesn't fair well against the NGK.
To be honest I fit NKG as a matter of course and have no problems.
