I have been toying with the idea of fitting an LTH to my Rapido for a while now and am about ready to buy one BUT I can't help thinking I'd be better off paying a bit more and go for a TS1 kit.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Rapido with LTH Reed or TS1?

Not sure if Mazz is on this site but he fitted a Lth reed block to his rapido 225

I am a train driver and 6lda 28b was the factory engine code of the first loco i learnt to drive
no that's not my handy work that loco and it's train derailed outside paddington in 1980
did he boost port the barrel and cut the windows in his piston or just bolt it on?6LDA 28B wrote:Not sure if Mazz is on this site but he fitted a Lth reed block to his rapido 225

He allowed a friend of a friend who knows someone who does tuning sometimes to mess up the porting it spat out more fuel than it used, 28mm mikuni didn't help.
So someone else recommended the reed valve it didn't work so the motor is now with chalkie at replay for remedial work, chalkie said it can be fixed and chucked his 28mm mikuni in the bin for a start

i think the reed valve went with it. for the price of the reed kit he would be better off selling the rapido and buying the ts1 if thats what he is after. chalkey knows his way around a rapido though and i think mazz would be happier with the rapido or rt kit.
