Hi,

I’m about to fit the rear brake cam, and have some questions.
Take a look at the pic below

17 – rear brake shim
16 – rear brake cam
15 – o ring
14 – rear brake lever
13 – circlip

Image

Does the rear brake shim slide on the cam first, then push rear cam through the casing?
Or
Push rear cam through casing, fit ‘o ring’, then rear shim, rear lever and circlip ?

I am leaning towards fitting with a shim and sliding rear cam through casing so that the shim is on the hub side, but this would mean there is only an o ring the other end before the rear brake lever goes on.

The front brake cam has an internal and external shim, why not the back ?

Cheers

17 goes on the cam before pushing through the casing. It's a shim to stop the cam cutting into the casing as well as giving the arm the correct spacing.

Thanks for the reply, I've just looked on the scooter restorations website at the
rear shim part and it states that 2 are required so am guessing there is one fitted
on the exterior as well....... :?:
