there are sliding dogs available on ebay for around 12.-
are these ok ?
has anybody a running / working engine with these cheapish indian
no-name ones ?

Quality looks quite decent on the one I got from Resurrection Scooters. Not used it yet however.

they maybe okay but for the small extra i`d get one from Scooter Restorations
Agreed why take the risk for pennies. If it breaks it could very well break you-literally.

scooter restos SIL one in my last few ts1,s replaced every2 yrs as a matter of course nothing wrong with them just preventative maintanance

watch the groove the wishbone lugs fit in - can be too tight and sort of semi jam up
