for years of fiddling with allen keys and pliers, thought i'd buy myself some adjusters but i just cant see how these work on the gear cable tightening on the adjuster block?

Anyone?

Me neither! Do you not have cable adjusters on your engine?

Sounds like Druist has got one of the tools that helps in tightening the cables. I think it's supposed to act as a third hand. They're on ebay all the time. Never used one myself.

Yep, that's the kiddie, though I can't quite see what it does more than a pair of mole grips would do.

They're quite handy on the clutch and outer gear cable but the inner gear cable is a bit awkward.
Druist, they go on the rearward side of the trunnion to tension the cable from that side to ideally have it hold the tension so that you have two hands free for a spanner and Allen key to tighten the trunnion.

This is a good site by the looks of things ;)
