My old AF has been repaired a few times and now given up again. No power for lights. Now i cant be arsed machining insides of mag housings, all i want to do is just bolt on a new and reliable stator and dont say Variotronic as its not going to happen.Whats the option?

I got a BGM, I know every bangs on about them not being 80w nor 120w but it works, thats all I needed at the time, sure you could get a knackered Sil one rewound but that costs more than a BGM?, if you doing the lights, battery etc like Mark then yeah fair play get a rewind to your spec.

Yeh,cheers for that but apparantly the BGM one will rub on my AF flywheel so im told.Im not bothered if they dont kickout 80w,or 120w or whatever, just want it to work and not break. The only lights im running are stop/tail and headlights.Spotlights will never happen.

Arr, you had the whole kit.. a good rewired/checked Sil would be my next choice then.. or a bit of machining of the mag and a BGM, Or how about what I'm now thinking for the next engine, new long finned flywheel, probably full weight cos I can be arsed with a light one, its for a small block kit, bigger cowl and a BGM.

I've a Varitronic sitting in the garage, might try it one day...

Why not get your AF fully rewound, rewired and, if you can, fit a BGM pickup?

I fitted a BGM stator last week to a machined mag and had to add a spacer under the pick up to get a spark. This was with an Indian flywheel though.

All i want to do is phone a shop who can sell me a stator that can run with my duacti flywheel without having any machining work.I dont get the bgm stators, why make them so they still rub on the ducati flywheels? If your gonna remake em,get them right.

Thought it was the newer AF flywheels that rubbed?
