gonna get a ts1 200 engine built and was wondering what reedvalves were available?
is it worth getting different ones to standard and what sort of ballpark gains would i get and rough cost comparisons??
any advice / opinions greatly appreciated

I bought RD350/ Banshee reed blocks for small money.
Advantage: You can choose between three types of Boyesen reeds (GFK, Dual Stage GFK and GFK/Carbon Fibre) or standart Yamaha reeds for less than 10 quid.
disadvantage: maybe you have to run the block with a spacer which means excentric cones or different manifold (mmw i.e.)

Unless your trying to squeeze every bit of power out theres nothing wrong with the AF reed. They got bad press because the early ones snapped some reeds but that was sorted years ago. If you have it use it because I'd be surprised if you could tell the difference on the road without work on the barrel.
If you haven't got it RD350 blocks may well be a cheaper option as Rosi-c9 says. Often for sale on ebay for peanuts.

i run these on my smallframe racer. my friend got better power right through the rev range from his ts1 race bike moving from a pyramid and changing to v-force. ive also seen quite a bit of info on the web with banshees getting the same result.Rude De wrote:http://www.duncanracing.com/mm5/merchan ... de=PRV-350

the main reason i see to us a pyramid reed, is when you have a small area to fit it.

the pyramid reeds look nice but at £170 too much for me
is there much modification needed to the yamaha rd reeds to fit (ive got a spare 5mm thick spacer)

I had the Yam reeds in mine and suffered loads of blow back that soaked the sponge filter,now changed to V Force and the filter is bone dry plus the motor feels more gruntier.The yam reeds were perfect condition but the V Force are far stiffer so they must close quicker keeping the charge in.
