What is special about the QA rear brake cable?
It is like a normal inner brake cable, but with the adjuster-thread crimped on the cable at the back-end. QA is "quick assembly".

So you don’t need to bolt-on an adjuster?
That’s correct. No more bending that thick cable to around the bolt and cutting your fingers on the frayed cable ends. It's really quick to assemble.

What about the outer cable? Can I use my existing outer?
Yes. This new inner cable will fit your existing outer cable. See instructions below to check size of cable*

But is that it?
No, there’s more. You can considerably speed up engine removal, because once you have removed the adjuster nut from the end of the cable, you can pull the complete cable and tophat out of the engine in one, swift move.

Anything else?
Well, it is a lot neater than the original adjuster and the pedal end it tinned to stop fraying.

So it is quicker and easier to fit, quicker and easier to remove and looks better?
Correct. What are you waiting for?

This new inner cable is designed to be used with your existing outer cable. My quality British-made inner cables come in 3mm wire, and now 2.5mm wire*. Price £10+ £1.50 postage (£2.50 postage for rest of world) on ebay, but I'll knock a £1 off the purchase price if you contact me via this forum. I accept paypal via [email protected]

I have sold hundreds and hundreds of these cables and not had one returned.

*IMPORTANT The traditional Lambretta inner cable is 3mm thick. Recently, scooter wholesalers have started stocking rear brake cables that use 2.5mm-thick wire. With NEW thicker outer cables getting harder to find (they're still available, but not everyone stocks them), I now manufacture two sizes of inner cable to suit your existing outer.

If your outer cable is in good condition, you can re-use it with one of my inner cables. If you have no outer cable, speak to your local dealer.

So what cable do you need to order to suit your existing outer cable? Visit http://www.colchesterdvlc.co.uk/martin/what_outer.htm

The fitting instructions are available at http://colchesterdvlc.co.uk/martin/QA_installation.htm

Thanks for looking.

Sean,

They are not T5 items. They are made for me in this country, and available in two thicknesses (3mm wire and 2.5mm wire) to match the two sizes of outer that are available. I also have extra long items for people making choppers.

Yes Smiffy, I do choke cables (I am making a batch of 18 for a dealer tonight). I'll post up details of these made to order items in another post, but if you're fed up of badly fitting choke cables for TS1/RB engines (too much outer cable and far too much inner cable), then send me a PM.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

It is good to put something into the scooter market place that works. I offer a lifetime guarantee, and I have NEVER had returned to me. I could probably get them made cheaper in Asia, but I like the idea of reliable UK quality and keeping the money in this country.

I've had a couple of the extra long ones on my chop as well as the standard length on the other scoots.

Never had a problem.

Keep us informed about the choke cables as I'll be having them also

Cheers
I do not try to explain why I ride Lambrettas,
For those who understand, no explanation is necessary,
For those who don't, no explantion is possible.

Fitted mine yesterday!
Worked perf!
Really nice having a back brake for once. Even though the instructions stated that it works like normal, my old setup was so crappy I never used the back brake, Now I can use it!
