Have the black rear BGM shock, was checking the scoot over before i went for a ride out and the top half nyloc nut was 2 rotations from falling off... :o anyways i tightend it back up and set off. Thing is since iv done this iv noticed that the back wheel seems to be skipping about when leaning into corners. Where as before when i presume the nut was loose it was riding really well..?

I have read somewhhere that you should not nip the nuts right up as this allows for flex or somthing but in not sure i would be happy with not having the nuts on any part of the scoot not nipped tight. I have the wavy washers and spacers to clear the mudguard and even when nipped up there aint a lot of thread to spare.

Anyone have similar experiences or any suggestions?

I've heard that you also have to leave some slack on the converted R1 shocks to also allow them to flex and move a bit otherwise they can break. I thought the BGM ones would be more useable, but hey the stuffs made in Tawian. Perhaps the dealer could give you some advice.

The brass bushes on my R1 conversion are nipped up tight. The shock pivots freely on the bushes. De ja vue. I think I replied similar on another thread. :?

With brass bushes and no rubber bush with it nipped up tight means there's no sideways movement. The Lambratta engine flexes on the engine mounts, this will be transferred to the rear shock too and leads to the snapped shocks we've heard about.
If the shock has rubber bushes then fully tight should be correct, if it doesn't then get a shock designed for the job. I would think a BGM needs to be tight, MB do specific nylocs for the BGM.

Recently swopped mine under warranty [oil leak] and have noticed the replacment does have an extended rubber mounted bottom bush which i cant remember seeing on the old one, the top bush is stil nylon mounted, these will allow for some flexing, i lock mine up tight with the shallow nyloks supplyed my MB and upto now all is well, Mike [soulsurfer] is right about the engine moving side to side as well as up and down  .
