3% Rock Full Synth in my TS1 230 with 95 Octane Unleaded (about all you can buy in Ireland).
3% Motul 800 in my TS1 Annhilator with USA 93 Octane unleaded premium and Klotz octane booster.
ts1 fuel %
3% Rock fully synth, TS1.
Old Lambretta's never die, they get tuned..................
2% and have for about 25yrs, any fully synthetic.
2% Putoline MHX, half as much- twice as good.
All that toffee about lubricating more with 4% is not really true.
I've been told time and time again that scooter engines dont work hard enough to burn 4% oil. they dont rev high enough.
When on a motorway sitting at 70mph, all that extra oil turns to carbon which retains heat. Your more likley to seize on 4% than 2%!!!!
Listen to the tuners and the racers though, these guys push the scoots to the max.

2% for years ts1 and imola. you would surprized how much oil is hanging around inside your crankcase when its taken apart
what sort of rideing are you lads doing on 2% oil? motorway,A road? RPM? miles per year?
Mmmm, Oil which is best, and at what ratio... I think Slade has hit the nail on the head, How hard do you push your scooter plus how many miles a year do you do on your scooter... Add the fact that some riders might do a 200-300 mile stint with just petrol stops in the blazing summer sun across Europe...
So perhaps everyone's answer is right... but only right for there speed & riding...
I know Slade does massive miles at speed on Motorways (as he attends nearly all the National Rallies) so maybe 2% might be a little lean on his, given the scooters state of tune and Motorway miles it does, and the 3% might be better for him, but maybe a different oil could be used at 2% and give the same protection as a lesser oil...
The quality of oils available today offer far better stability once mixed than ever before, but the ability for it to lubricate is partly governed by how much oil is in the petrol, then at that ratio the oil's maximum film strength, at whatever elevated temperatures it reaches. once this is exceeded it will break through the lubrication film and cause damage. but not all engines are pushed that hard...
So maybe there is no real wrong ratio\oil, maybe just one that suits your own engine & riding style...

I know a lad who runs a MB Honda 205 on 2% fully synth with no seizure or crank issues. 25mm carb through airbox and RS clubman exhaust, on the throttle stop everywhere.
I just cant bring myself to drop to that..3% for me, it just makes me feel happier.
