hi all,

I've fitted an electronic ignition to the old series 2. but now I started connecting all the wires and find I have a few to many to fit...
I fitted everything to the CDI, but now I've got 4 or 5 wires remaining for just one leftover pin on the 12v regulator... (double green, double pink, brown, purple and a lost pink one).
I think brown is the horn, double pink the brake light, purple goes to the switch?
pfffew, me don't know... :?

If you have a double pink in one bullet you are going to have to change the brake light switch from a 1 hole to a 2 or 3 hole type. Also the pink from that bullet going to the rear light cannot be used so cut it off or tape it up (if you wish to change back to standard at any point), and a new pink now needs to be added from the new brake light switch to the rear light.
One of the green bullets (which one depends on where you are mounting the CDI) needs to be changed to a female spade crimp and this connects to the CDI, the other bullet must be insulated.
The pink, brown and purple need to be connected together and joined to the remaining connector on the regulator. It is neater to use a DC junction box to make the connections like so

hmm, I thought it was the green one that was connected to the coil that had to go to the cdi? on checking the wires again, I noticed on the pics I took that the pink ones already were disconnected.

I connected the brown, purple and a stray pink one to the regulator. that double green should be connected to the cdi?

when I get back from work I'll post some pics.

If you are mounting the CDI in the original coil position then it will be the old coil green that you use for the CDI, as shown in the diagram.

I'm mounting the CDI on a Scooter Loopy bracket.
seems to work fine, so I'll better tape of that double green.
I'll post some pics later.

What is the function of the purple wire from the switch housing as I have bought a new loom (with front brake addition, pink and another brown).
Green, brown and black run continuous with pink and brown spliced in for front and rear brakes )
This is for my S2 which came with a rather messy 12v conversion).
There is no purple in the loom but there is one from the switch.
At the headset I have a double brown, a green and the black. Can I connect the purple into the brown at the headset?..I thought I had this sussed till I found the purple.DOHHH

it's alive!
I connected one of the double green to the CDI and got a nice spark, but the killswitch is not working... should I also connect the other green one (the one with the crappy red connector on it in the pic) to the CDI for the killswitch?
