On the BGM debate.

Scootering mag often ask the owners of featured scoots....What is the most useless part you have bought for your scooter?

Useless is far too harsh here, but if I was asked

What is the most pointless part you have bought for your scooter?

My reply would be. A 120 watt BGM scooter.

Before I bought mine I was advised by a Yorkshire based dealer that it would power more or brighter lights. It doesn't. And nor does any other that friends or acquaintances have fitted. Sorry.

PS. I love the way Mark has to use a proxy when replying to forum debates. Can't type?

Please pass this on to BGM. Might be worth speaking to Mark Tidd or Chris Sadd aswell.

'we never heard of this problem before'

From Mark:

All at MB Developments and Scooter Center Koln follow the forum
threads, well the ones worth following and not the bull s**t ones. So
we have followed every stator thread going and comments are noted.

Because we are the UK importers we get to know of any complaints which
isn't many, but as I've pointed out before there are too many arm
chair brave warriors on these forums who are to scared to talk face to
face or by phone.
AT LEAST I HAVE THE BALLS TO COME ON THE FORUM UNDER MY OWN USERNAME
THE REASON I HAVENT SENT YOU THE DETAILS OF THE SNAPPED STUDS IS BECOUSE THE SCOOTERS INVOLVED WERE NOT MINE BUT ONES I WORKED ON... DO YOU POST PICTURES OF PEOPLE SCOOTERS OR ENGINES YOU WORK ON WITHOUT THERE PERMISSION .... THOUGHT NOT ;)
NOWERE DID I MENTION THAT THE SNAPPED STUDS WERE FROM MB THAT IS A PRESUMPTION YOU BROUGHT ABOUT PERHAPS FOR REASONS KNOWN TO YOU ?

The snapped damper studs with BGM dampers is a perfect example, NO ONE
has come to us with damaged studs!
ITS POINTLESS COMING TO YOU UNTILL ALL THE DETAILS ARE KNOW, AND I AM TRYING TO CONTACT THE AGENT OF YOURS WHO SOLD THE SHOCKERS AND POSSIBLY THE DAMPER MOUNTS THE OTHER PEOPLE INVOLVED WILL CONTACT THE PEOPLE THEY BOUGHT THERE DAMPERS FROM AS AND WHEN THERE ABLE ,ONE PERSON HAS ALREADY HAD HIS MOUNT REPLACED BY THE DEALER WHO HE BOUGHT IT FROM SO UNLESS YOU/HE/THEY ARE IN CONTACT WITH EACH OTHER ITS HIGHLY UNLIKELY THAT YOU WILL HEAR ABOUT IT

I'm sure i speak for many .. when i replaced my indian stator for a 120w BGM, the difference was immediately obvious, brighter AC lights and less flickering at low revs.

these guys who have pioneered the rewinding and pushing the bounderies will probably push bgm into an improvement, progress , positive outcome

i personally think for the money the bgm stator is fine even if not a true 120w, electrics on all italian bikes , scooters and cars have been s**t for decades, but it looks like the lambretta will have 21st century electrics some day soon with these new products , bulbs etc.......isn't BGM about to bring out a new flywheel also?

As a layman I can't honestly say I've noticed a great deal of difference between my BGM stator and the Indian one I used previously. But to be honest I'm not all that bothered. You've only got to look at them to see that they are a well made bit of kit. Would I get another? Maybe, maybe not. I think you'd be just as well sticking a decent pickup on an Indian stator to be honest. Just saying.
Mel K

so the 120 watt stator is not a 120 watt stator, glad I haven't wasted any money on that latest must have.
