How do I get tank back in frame??

Having a hard time getting the petrol tank back in my S1 framebreather. I have no idea how I got the damn thing out the first time......
Frame is completely bare and I dont want to scratch the new powdercoating.

heeeeeeeeeeeeeelp.

and on a side note, i need to buy a horncast badge but do i need to buy a S1 badge or can I use the any horncast badge and holding clip? I'm not too concerned if it's not exactly the same as original.

The Casa badges got both the two pins for S1 and the "bone-style" for the clip for S2/3. So you can remove the not needed one. Or both if you fancy the use of silicone.
Concerning the tank I don't exactly see the problem, it´s allways a little bit fiddling...
Turn the tank by ~90° so the filler is facing to the toolbox, insert from the left (carb) side an turn it upright. If you use a plastic surround for the filler install this only with the tank in place.
Maybe you can post a picture if it still does not work.

Unfortunately the turn 90 degrees option didn't work. I gave it a damn good try but the tank either hits the top of the frame or the seam of the tank hits the battery tray. I am beginning to wonder if the battery tray that I have on mine is a larger one that has been added on at some time????? It measures 80mm x 153mm, does anyone know if this is the standard size??

Knowing me I probably just bashed it out, but after many years of swearing at my scoots I've finally come to realise that if it isn't happening easily then I aint doing it right.

Still haven't had any luck. Been searching on the web for hours as well to try and get some hints but no luck there either.

Surely someone out there can give me a few hints.

Have you tried it without the rubbers? ypou can squeeze them in later

There are no rubbers in there yet, I have removed the fuel tap and the fuel cap is off.
No matter what way I do it it either hits on the battery tray or on the top of the frame.

What the hell am I doing wrong??

You need to have the air box out first.

With the cap and the fuel tap removed, turn the tank about 20 degrees, with the cap towards the rear (curved part down). The tank should go in with a little jiggling.

Once in place, rotate it to the correct angle, put the straps on and tighten the strap bolts (which should be on the top of the tank).

Thanks for the info but unfortunately still no luck...... I couldn't even get the tank past the outside of the frame when i tilted it 20 degrees back.
I can get the tank right through the frame when the fuel mouth is pointing directly to the back of the bike but any other angle and it hits on the frame.
